After only a few months in Atlanta, Tyler Goodson is heading to the Lone Star State to continue his NFL journey.
The former Iowa running back began the 2026 season on the Falcons' practice squad following a productive preseason. With superstar tailback Bijan Robinson, as well as Brian Robinson, in Atlanta's backfield, finding a role was going to be difficult. It turns out Goodson won't have to worry about that anymore.
NFL insider Adam Schefter reported that the former Hawkeye was signed by the Dallas Cowboys to its active roster. Goodson will be taking his talents to the NFC East.

Dallas also waived RB Israel Abanikanda.
The 5-foot-9 running back has 54 carries
across 33 career NFL games. He's rushed for 264 yards and a touchdown, all with the Indianapolis Colts. Goodson has also caught 19 passes for 103 yards and a touchdown.
As a Hawkeye, Goodson rushed for 2,551 yards and 18 touchdowns in three seasons. He added 565 receiving yards to that tally. He was named to the All-Big Ten first team in 2020 and All-Big Ten third team in 2021.
