As excitement builds for the first "College GameDay" appearance in Iowa City in 20 years, Hawkeye legend and current Indiana Fever guard Caitlin Clark will be celebrating the global release of her signature Nike Caitlin 1 shoes back where it all began.
Clark, Nike, and Dick’s Sporting Goods have teamed up to bring a pop-up retail shop to Iowa City on Thursday, Oct. 1 through Saturday, Oct. 3. The pop-up shop will be located in downtown Iowa City and it will include Clark’s black and gold colorway.
The “Nothing Special to See Here*” Caitlin 1 shop will also feature customized apparel and access to the shoe in multiple colorways.
“A lot of thought and time has gone into this shoe,” Clark said in a statement to The Daily Iowan. “I never thought I would
have my own signature shoe, and now that I do, it’s pretty special. I can’t wait to share this moment with so many people.”

Additionally, Nike is setting up a court on the edge of campus that will host the Iowa women’s basketball team, Iowa student intramural open runs, and a 3-point contest.
At this temporary court, there will be carnival games with a “long shot” theme, where fans can sink a putt, throw a football, or shoot a 3-pointer from 22 feet away, honoring Clark’s jersey number. Friendship bracelet stations will be present as a reference to Clark’s love of Taylor Swift and the Kansas City Chiefs.
Completing the multi-day festivities set up by Clark and Nike, various local Iowa City food vendors will be present for fans to frequent, including Marco’s Grilled Cheese, George’s Best Gyros, Le Crave, Get Fresh Cafe, Paco’s Tacos, and Tin Roost.
The pop-up shop will be open on Oct. 1 from 4-8 p.m. CT, from 12-8 p.m. CT on Oct. 2, and from 8 a.m.-noon CT on Saturday, Oct. 3 before No. 14 Iowa football kicks off against No. 6 Ohio State.
