The Miami Dolphins are waiving former Iowa football quarterback Mark Gronowski, per NFL Network's Mike Garafolo.
Garafolo reports that the Dolphins plan to bring Gronowski back to the practice squad if he clears waivers. NFL teams have until noon CT Monday to put in claims on players that have been waived. If a player clears waivers, they become an NFL free agent and are free to sign with any team.
Gronowski played 10 offensive snaps against the New York Giants in the Dolphins' second preseason contest, completing 2 of 5 passes for one yard and carrying the football twice for nine yards. Then, Gronowski played 31 offensive snaps against the Atlanta Falcons in Miami's preseason finale, completing 4 of 8 passes for 97 yards. Gronowski also ran for 28
yards.

Gronowski signed with the Dolphins as an undrafted free agent in April. Then, Gronowski was waived by the Dolphins prior to the start of the NFL preseason on Aug. 7. Miami re-signed Gronowski a little more than a week later on Aug. 16 after Quinn Ewers suffered a groin injury in the Dolphins preseason opener.

In his lone season at Iowa, Gronowski passed for 1,741 yards and 10 touchdowns and ran for an additional 545 yards and 16 scores. The Hawkeyes posted a 9-4 (6-3 Big Ten) record last season with Gronowski as its starting quarterback.
