It's going to be all hands on deck for Iowa this Saturday in Ann Arbor.
Michigan presents a unique challenge for the Hawkeyes. It's the first road game of the season and the first road start for quarterback Hank Brown. The Wolverines have a great defense that's going to put a lot of pressure on Brown. Iowa can help its quarterback out by running the ball well and getting open on routes. They'll have a better chance of doing that if they can get healthy this week.
Kamari Moulton, LJ Phillips Jr., and DJ Vonnahme all missed the Week 3 win over Northern Iowa. All three of those players are integral pieces of the offense that make Brown's life easier. While their official status for the Michigan game is still unknown, head coach Kirk Ferentz provided
some optimism at his weekly press conference on Tuesday. He had the following to say about his offensive playmakers.
"On the injury front, things are looking fairly optimistic," Ferentz said. "Everybody appears to be working their way back. Kamari and LJ (running backs) and DJ (tight end). We are hoping to get them back and see where that goes, but we'll know by the end of the week."
All in all, it's a decent injury update for that trio. The fact they haven't already been ruled out for the game is a good sign. If Iowa wants to win this game and keep College Football Playoff hopes alive, they'll need their skill position players healthy. This update is promising in that regard.
