The Commanders released kicker and former
Michigan Wolverine Jake Moody on Monday, signaling that Stevens had won the job.
Stevens will look to build a successful NFL career similar to that of Hawkeyes legend Nate Kaeding, who retired as one of the most accurate field-goal kickers in league history, making 86.2% of his field goal tries and scoring 895 career points.
