After suffering its first loss of the season on Oct. 3, Iowa responded with a dominant 41-24 road victory over the Washington Huskies (3-3, 0-3 Big Ten) on Friday night at Husky Stadium in Seattle, Wash.
The Hawkeyes are now 5-1 (2-1 Big Ten) as they enter their Week 7 bye week.
Against the Huskies, running back Kamari Moulton rushed for a career-high 208 yards and two touchdowns on 26 carries, including an incredible 56-yard touchdown run to close the first quarter. Quarterback Jeremy Hecklinski made his first collegiate start, completing 14 of 19 passes for 202 yards and three touchdowns. It was Iowa's first win at Washington since 1963 and its first regular-season win in the Pacific time zone since 1965.
As a result, Iowa rose two spots to No.
16 nationally in the latest US LBM Coaches Poll.
Indiana is the highest-ranked Big Ten squad at No. 4 nationally. Ohio State is next at No. 5, followed by UCLA at No. 12, USC at No. 15, and Oregon at No. 25, rounding out the group of Big Ten squads inside the latest rankings. Nebraska, Northwestern, and Wisconsin are all receiving votes.
