The Iowa football team got back on track over the weekend. That was reflected in the newest USA TODAY Sports 1-138 re-rank.
The Hawkeyes crushed Wisconsin 30-0 in front of a sold-out Kinnick Stadium on Saturday afternoon. Hank Brown diced up the Badger defense to the tune of 222 passing yards and a pair of touchdowns. The defense notched its third shutout of the season, completely overwhelming Colton Joseph and the Wisconsin offense.
Iowa's dominant performance saw them rise in the rankings.
A new edition of the USA TODAY Sports 1-138 re-rank was released on Monday after Week 9 of the college football season. The Hawkeyes rose 7 spots to No. 16 in this week's ranking. Their Week 10 opponent, Northwestern, comes in at No. 28 in this week's ranking.
Iowa is now back in the top 20 following a big drop last week. They'll face a huge road test against the Wildcats this weekend, with a chance to move to 7-2 on the table.
Miami, Georgia, Utah, BYU, and Indiana make up the top five, in that order.
The Big Ten also has UCLA at No. 7, Ohio State at No. 10, and USC at No. 17.
