Following in the footsteps of fellow Iowa women's basketball legend Megan DiLeo, Caitlin Clark has added author to her resume by releasing her own children's picture book.
In partnership with Penguin Random House and Random House Books for Young Readers, the three-time WNBA All-Star released her children's picture book, "EXTRAordinary! A Little EXTRA to Reach BIG Dreams," on Nov. 3, 2026. The Clark-authored book is illustrated by Adriana Predoi and is geared toward children ages 4-8.
The 32-page book shares an inspiring story in rhythmic verse from Clark about living every day with purpose and meaning. The book draws inspiration from a mirror that hung in the former Hawkeye icon's childhood bedroom, with the quote, "The difference between ordinary
and extraordinary is the little extra."

“It’s something that hopefully they’ll always have for me through life, and I’ll maybe pass along to one of my kids one day,” Clark said in an interview with the Associated Press. “I don’t think it’s always something you realize or notice when you’re looking in the mirror that it’s something motivational.”
The book focuses on teamwork, perseverance, and the love of those around her, including her family, friends, and teammates.
“I think a lot of it is very true to my story, and the way I was raised,” Clark said. “You know, my career as a basketball player, just doing a little extra and believing in yourself a little extra. You’re going to need a little extra love, or courage.”
