Iowa women's basketball recently offered 2028 guard Erin Thomas out of Princeton High School.
The 6-foot-1 Cincinnati prospect also stars for Sports City Angels 17U Nike EYBL club program and is rated as a four-star, as the No. 19 overall player, No. 7 shooting guard and No. 1 prospect in Ohio, according to Rivals. Thomas is also ranked as the No. 15 overall prospect in ESPN's 2028 SportsCenter NEXT - Super 60
and No. 20 in Prep Girls Hoops' 2028 rankings.In her sophomore season, Thomas averaged 19.7 points, 3.8 rebounds, 2.9 steals, and 1.9 assists per game on 47.4% field goal shooting, 36.4% 3-point shooting and 83.2% free-throw shooting in 24 games played, according to Princeton's statistics through the Greater Miami Conference.
Iowa's offer
now joins a plethora of other programs competing for Thomas' commitment, including Kentucky, North Carolina, Alabama, Georgia, Clemson, Georgia Tech, Florida State, Texas A&M, and Big Ten foes Michigan, Michigan State, Maryland, Penn State, Oregon, Indiana, Wisconsin and Purdue.
Like many of the other 2028 prospects that Iowa has offered, the Hawkeyes will certainly have their work cut out for them in fending off the collection of other programs. However, Jan Jensen and Co. hope their strong reputation for developing talent, performing on the national stage, and consistently being one of the nation's top programs will help lure the talented Ohioan to Iowa City.
