After traveling to Iowa City this weekend for an official visit, 2027 four-star center Khalia Hartwell told On3 and Hawkeye Report's Kyle Huesmann that Iowa women's basketball is one of her two finalists. Hartwell will be choosing between Iowa and Georgia.
Hartwell had previously named Iowa as one of three finalists in August alongside Georgia and Virginia Tech. But, Hartwell won't be taking her previously scheduled Sept. 18 trip to Blacksburg, Va., after all.
A 6-foot-4 native Anderson, S.C., Hartwell is ranked as the nation's No. 16 player, as the No. 2 center and as the top player in South Carolina, per 247Sports. According to Rivals, Hartwell is the country's No. 26 player, the No. 3 center and the top player from South Carolina.

Hartwell was named the South Carolina Gatorade Player of the Year during her junior season last year, averaging 12.4 points, 8.3 rebounds, and 2.2 blocks per game for a Westside Rams team that reached the 4A state championship game. She also averaged 15.1 points, 12.5 rebounds, 3.6 blocks, and 2.3 assists across 16 games for AEBL 17 this summer.
Hartwell also garnered offers from schools such as Duke, Indiana, Notre Dame and Ohio State throughout her recruitment.
