Iowa has named its starting quarterback for this weekend's road matchup with Minnesota.
Kirk Ferentz took the stage at his weekly Tuesday press conference and shared the news with reporters. Third-year Jeremy Hecklinski will get the start for the Hawkeyes on Saturday. It will be the second straight start for Hecklinski, who led Iowa to a 41-24 win over Washington in Week 6.
"Our plan is start Jeremy and see where things go," Ferentz said about Hecklinski and Brown possibly both playing at Minnesota.

Hecklinski completed 14 of his 19 passes for 202 yards and three touchdowns against the Huskies. On the season, he's 32-of-51 for 410 yards with four touchdown passes and an interception. The 5-foot-11 signal caller got the start against Washington
after Hank Brown sustained an injury the week before. Hecklinski took full advantage of his opportunity and has now earned another start.
As for Brown, Ferentz said he's "100%" when it comes to the shoulder injury he suffered against the Buckeyes. That injury caused him to miss the Washington game and gave Hecklinski a chance to show what he could do. Now Brown will sit and wait for his next opportunity to get on the field.
Hecklinski will lead the Hawkeyes into Minneapolis with the Floyd of Rosedale Trophy on the line. Iowa and Minnesota will kick off at 2:30 p.m. CST on FS1.
