After making the Chicago Bears' 53-man roster, former Iowa football tight end Hayden Large has been placed on injured reserve to start the 2026 season.
Large was signed by the Bears as an undrafted free agent to a three-year, $3,107,500 contract on April 27 and is currently dealing with a reported core injury.

Large will miss at least the season's first four games after being placed on injured reserve. He would first be eligible to return to play for the Bears in Week 5 at the Green Bay Packers on Oct. 11.
The 6-foot-4, 250-pound tight end hauled in 14 catches for 89 yards in his
Iowa career. Large began his Iowa career as a fullback and was well-known for his blocking ability in the run and pass game. Those traits impressed the Bears' front office enough to secure a spot on Chicago's initial 53-man roster.
