Jan Jensen and the Iowa women's basketball program have picked up the pace on the recruiting trail in recent weeks. They recently issued another marquee offer to a very talented high school guard.
Class of 2028 guard Amel Cook took to Instagram to announce that she's received an official offer from the Hawkeyes. Cook is a five-star prospect and ranks as the No. 6 overall player and as both the No. 3 shooting guard and prospect from California in the 2028 class, according to Rivals.
Cook is from Los Angeles, Calif., and plays for Windward School. The 6-foot-1 guard is one of the most highly sought-after players in the 2028 class. She holds offers from a ton of powerhouse programs, including USC, UCLA, North Carolina, Michigan, Tennessee and Oklahoma.

She missed her entire sophomore season with an injury, but has still racked up the offers this summer. That says a lot about how impressive her freshman year was and how she's viewed as a prospect. Cook will aim to put together a healthy junior campaign and raise her stock even higher.
