In less than a month, Iowa women's basketball will grace the floor at Carver-Hawkeye Arena for an exhibition date against Division II foe Maryville.
Iowa enters the 2026-27 season after a 27-7 campaign last season that included a second-place finish in the Big Ten and a host spot for the fourth time in the last five seasons.
With great excitement building for a new season, the Hawkeyes announced their two player representatives joining head coach Jan Jensen at the upcoming Big Ten media days. Juniors Ava Heiden and Chit-Chat Wright are headed to the Donald E. Stephens Convention Center in Rosemont, Ill., on Wednesday, Oct. 7 for Big Ten media days.

Heiden was named Big Ten Player of the Week three times last season and recognized as the USBWA National Player of the Week twice and as the AP National Player of the Week once.
Meanwhile, Wright was a third-team All-Big Ten selection by the coaches after averaging 12.5 points, 4.5 assists, 3.0 rebounds, and 1.3 steals per game on 42.9% field goal shooting, 44.0% 3-point shooting, and 84.1% accuracy from the free-throw line.
The 2026-27 season also marks the first season for five-star signee McKenna Woliczko. The Hawkeyes added transfers Dani Carnegie, Bria Medina, Amari Whiting, and Jocelyn Faison. Alongside Woliczko, Iowa signed Ella Strömdahl.
