Fans aren't the only ones placing friendly wagers on the Cy-Hawk game. Some of both programs' most notable alumni place a friendly wager every year that always ends in a hilarious payoff. Things weren't any different this time around.
George Kittle and Brock Purdy are teammates for the San Francisco 49ers. Over the past few years, the two have even become pretty good friends. That changes for one week every year: the annual Cy-Hawk game.
Kittle, a former Hawkeye tight end, and Purdy, a former Cyclone quarterback, place a friendly bet every year on the rivalry game. Whichever player's former team loses the game has to wear some of their rival's apparel. It's led to some funny moments over the past few seasons. Kittle has been the one to don Iowa
State gear recently, with the Cyclones winning three of four meetings heading into last weekend.
With Iowa's 16-13 win last Saturday, Kittle got to flip the script on his teammate. Purdy paid off the bet at his media availability on Thursday. He took the stage in an Iowa shirt and hat, making the following remarks about the gear.
"Any Hawkeye logo looks ugly to me, so it sucks," Purdy joked.

As the old saying goes, to the victors go the spoils. Kittle and the Hawkeyes were the victors last weekend, and they got to enjoy the spoils of that win on Thursday. All eyes will be on this bet next year when the Cy-Hawk game takes center stage once again.
