A kickoff for Penn State's first Big Ten game of the season has been announced. And while it is not a primetime matchup, the game will be played under the lights.
Penn State announced on Monday that the Nittany Lions will kick off against Wisconsin at 5 p.m. Eastern on Sept. 26. The game will not air on traditional television, however. Instead, the Penn State vs. Wisconsin game will air exclusively on Peacock, the streaming platform from NBC. The matchup with Wisconsin will be the Big Ten opener for both Penn State and Wisconsin.
Wisconsin will have played one game away from home this seaosn when they arrive in Happy Valley at the end of the month. The Badgers opened the seaosn with a game against Notre Dame in Lambeau Field in Green Bay, Wisconsin,
which was technically a neutral field and a home game for the Fighting Irish. Wisconsin gave Notre Dame a good fight for a while but fell by a final score of 41-13.
Wisconsin got a rebound win this past weekend at home against Western Illinois and should be a heavy favorite this week against Eastern Michigan before they prepare for their road trip to Penn State in Week 4.
Penn State is coming off a 27-9 victory against Temple in its first road game of the season. The Nittany Lions will be back home in Beaver Stadium in Week 3 for a home game against Buffalo. This week's game is slated for a noon kickoff on Big Ten Network.
