Penn State continues to quietly climb the national rankings three games into the season. This week the Nittany Lions breezed by a home game against Buffalo to improve to 3-0 with Big Ten play now officially on the horizon. And with three comfortable victories under the belt, Penn State is slowly gaining respect from the polls.
Penn State moved up two spots in this week's Super 16 poll from the Football Writers Association of America and the National Football Foundation. Penn State is now ranked No. 13 in the Super 16 poll after being ranked No. 15 last week. Texas remains the top team in the Super 16 poll with 36 first-place votes.
Other Big Ten teams in the Super 16 poll are No. 6 Indiana, No. 7 Ohio State, and No. 11 USC.

disclosure, I am a voter in the FWAA's Super 16 poll. I ranked Penn State at No. 13 on my ballot this week.
