LSU football saw its national title betting odds increase after a dominant 51-10 win over Clemson in Week 1. Per FanDuel, LSU now sits at +1500 to win the national championship. That places LSU No. 8 in the sport. Ohio State is the favorite with +550 odds to win it all.
After Ohio State, Georgia ranks No. 2 at +700 and Notre Dame sits No. 3 at +750. Texas, Miami, Indiana, and Oregon also sit ahead of LSU.
+1500 seems like a fair number for LSU. It would be unprecedented for a team like LSU, with a first-year head coach and this many transfers, to win a national title. However, if Week 1 is any indication, LSU will be a tough team to beat this year.
For LSU to keep climbing the odds board, the market will want to wait and see that LSU is truly the cream
of the crop and didn't just take advantage of a downtrodden Clemson team.
LSU's next game is at home vs. Louisiana Tech. The Tigers should handle business in Week 2 before the attention turns to Ole Miss in Week 3.
