LSU football quarterback Sam Leavitt was listed as doubtful ahead of LSU vs. Ole Miss on LSU's initial injury report, released on Wednesday evening. The news comes as a surprise, as Leavitt did not appear injured in LSU's Week 2 win over Louisiana Tech.
If Leavitt can't go, LSU will be without its starting quarterback in a blockbuster SEC contest. LSU vs. Ole Miss was already full of intrigue as LSU coach Lane Kiffin prepares to return to his former school.
Through two games, Leavitt has thrown for 574 yards and two touchdowns. He's been equally impactful on the ground, averaging 5.9 yards per carry and tallying five rushing touchdowns.

Landen Clark would get the nod if Leavitt is unavailable. Clark, an Elon transfer, has seen action
in LSU's first two games. Clark has the physical tools to be a productive SEC quarterback, but this would be a massive moment for Clark to get his first SEC start.
LSU is currently a 2.5-point favorite to beat the Rebels, though the Leavitt news could impact that number.
