Angel Reese and the Atlanta Dream will take on the Golden State Valkyries in the WNBA Finals. The former LSU women's basketball star helped the Dream sweep the New York Liberty in a best-of-five series in the Eastern Conference Finals. The Dream and Valkyries are both seeking their first franchise titles.
Both teams have time to rest and prepare for the best-of-seven series. Game 1 tips off on Saturday, October 17 at 2:30 p.m. CT in San Francisco. The Valkyries host the first two games before shifting to Atlanta for Games 3 and 4.
The Dream went 0-3 against the Valkyries in the regular season, losing two of the three by five points or less. Reese led all players in rebounds in every game, but the Dream struggled to defend the Valkyries' balanced
attack. Golden State's Gabby Williams created problems for the Dream, scoring 23 points on June 24 and then scoring 13 straight points in the fourth quarter on July 4.
