LSU football expects to have its pass rusher available when the Tigers travel to face Auburn on Saturday. LSU defensive end Princewill Umanmielen was absent from the Wednesday injury report, a good sign after Umanmielen left LSU's win over Mississippi State and did not return.
LSU's defense was already dealing with the injury bug. Defensive back Da'Shawn Spears tore his ACL vs. Ole Miss and will miss the entire season, while linebacker Whit Weeks is missing an extended period and won't return until November. If LSU were without Umanmielen, the Tigers would be down yet another impact player.

LSU managed fine after Umanmielen left the Mississippi State game, going to win 31-0, but LSU's defensive end depth is a question mark, and Umanmielen is an All-American-caliber player. LSU's pass rush is elite with Umanmielen on the field.
Umanmielen has eight sacks and 22 pressures in 2026. He also makes an impact against the run, with six run stops this year. Umanmielen was a key piece of LSU's transfer portal class and was with Lane Kiffin at Ole Miss.
LSU faces Auburn this Saturday at 11 A.M. CT. The 5-2 Tigers need a win to keep their College Football Playoff hopes alive.
