Aaron Nola found his groove in the back half of the MLB season. The former LSU baseball pitcher has a 2.10 ERA over his last 10 starts for the Philadelphia Phillies. He has allowed two or fewer runs in his last eight starts.
In his latest appearance, Nola earned the win by throwing seven shutout innings over the New York Mets. He allowed just three hits and recorded four strikeouts. The right-handed pitcher went six or more innings in five of his last starts and picked up three wins along the way.
Nola's 2026 season, his 12th in MLB and with the Phillies, started shaky. He went through the first three months with an ERA over five before fine-tuning his mechanics and pitch mix over the All-Star break. He found success striking out opponents with his knuckle
curveball and started landing his fastball.

The Phillies are still in a playoff chase in the National League East and are tied for the top wild-card spot with the Chicago Cubs. Nola is expected to be part of the pitching plan should the Phillies hang on to make the postseason.
