LSU football strung together two straight wins before heading into its bye week. Head coach Lane Kiffin and his team put on two dominating offensive performances in victories against Mississippi State and Auburn.
Quarterback Sam Leavitt improved his play during both victories. He led an offensive unit that has scored at least 30 points in each of its last five contests. The Arizona State transfer is finding his groove ahead of three straight games against ranked opponents.
Leavitt entered the season with top-10 Heisman Trophy odds. Hype died down early in the 2026 season, but he has the chance to continue his ascent down the stretch. FanDuel gives the redshirt junior gunslinger +5000 odds to take home the annual award. Those are tied for eighth-best
in the country with Georgia quarterback Gunner Stockton.
Ole Miss quarterback Trinidad Chambliss has the best odds of all SEC players at +3000. Leavitt and Stockton are tied for the next-best odds among SEC players.
