LSU football ranked No. 21 in the latest US LBM Coaches Poll, slipping after losing to Kentucky on Saturday. LSU fell 11 spots after ranking in the top 10 a week ago.
Georgia leaped to No. 1 after beating Alabama. Last week's No. 1, Texas, fell to No. 6 after losing to Oklahoma. Eight SEC teams were ahead of LSU, including the Tigers' next opponent, No. 19 Mississippi State.
LSU wasn't the only SEC team to slip in the rankings. Florida went from No. 15 to unranked after being blown out by South Carolina.
LSU is now 4-2 after the loss to Kentucky. Lane Kiffin and Co. now face an uphill battle to make the College Football Playoff. LSU's remaining schedule is brutal, and the Tigers probably need to win out. And LSU doesn't look good enough to run
the table, based on what it showed vs. Ole Miss and Kentucky.
LSU is 0-2 on the road, raising questions about the Tigers' ability to win away from Tiger Stadium.
