LSU football is slated to face Ole Miss on Saturday night as the top-10-ranked teams meet in Oxford. LSU and Ole Miss were compared all offseason after LSU poached head coach Lane Kiffin from the Rebels. LSU is the slight favorite, with Vegas giving the Tigers a 2.5-point edge.
Vegas also expects LSU to finish the season with more wins. According to FanDuel, LSU is -175 to win more games than Ole Miss, while Ole Miss is +250 to win more games than LSU. The odds that each team finishes the regular season with the same number of wins are +650.
Those odds signal that the market is more confident in LSU than Ole Miss, despite LSU's hard schedule. LSU has to travel to face Ole Miss before returning home to meet Texas A&M. Later in the year, LSU will
play Texas, Alabama, and Tennessee. That's one of the toughest schedules in college football.
The stakes are high for LSU on Saturday. If LSU can beat Ole Miss and move to 3-0, LSU notches a resume win and creates margin for error the rest of the way.
