LSU football QB Sam Leavitt made his anticipated Tiger Stadium debut on Saturday night. LSU signed Leavitt as the top-ranked quarterback in the transfer portal. Leavitt spent the last two years at Arizona State before searching for a new home.
Leavitt's 2025 was cut short by foot surgery. That injury kept Leavitt out through much of spring practice and he didn't hit full stride until the summer. There were questions. Would Leavitt be rusty? Would the foot injury linger and affect his mobility? How would Leavitt gel with a transfer-heavy offense?
Those concerns were put to rest on Saturday night. Leavitt's mobility was more than find -- it was elite. Leavitt ran for over 100 yards and averaged 9.3 yards per carry. The LSU QB found the end zone
twice with his legs.
Leavitt put up strong numbers in the air, too, throwing for 230 yards and finding Winston Watkins for a touchdown. Here's a look at Leavitt's LSU debut by the numbers.
