LSU women's basketball cracked the top four for one of the top forwards in the 2027 recruiting class. Head coach Kim Mulkey and her team are on a short list of prospective schools for power forward Qandace Samuels, according to a post on her social media account Thursday.
Samuels is a native of District Heights, MD, which is located right outside of Washington DC. She attends Bishop McNamara High School. Rivals' Industry Rankings list her as the No. 12 overall prospect in the 2027 cycle. She also draws rankings of No. 3 at her position and No. 2 out of the state of Maryland.
The 2027 recruiting trail has not been kind to Mulkey thus far. The Tigers have one player committed in the Rivals' Industry top 50. It's six-foot-five center Caroline Bradley,
a Louisiana native who ranks No. 7 overall in the class.

Dawn Staley and the Gamecocks are on a tear with three top-20 prospects already committed. That trio includes GG Banks, who was heavily recruited by LSU.
