Several members of LSU baseball's 2026 signing class got recognized among the best in the cycle. Eight were named to the top 100 freshman list by Baseball America. Here is what the outlet says about the players included on the list.
"These rankings aren’t intended to project immediate on-field impact for the 2027 season. Opportunities and roster depth will vary from program to program, and some players who might be lower down the list are more ready-now talents but without as much long-term upside compared to players above them."
All of LSU's selections were ranked on the MLB's prospect list for the 2026 Draft. Between major drops down the draft board and name withdrawals, some of the Tigers' top prospects will don the purple and gold in 2027.
Left-handed pitchers Logan Schmidt and Lucas Nawrocki, along with right-handed pitchers Kolby Stringer, Cooper Sides, and Coleton Brady, made the cut. LSU is looking to develop its next crop of pitchers, and head coach Jay Johnson has plenty of young, talented arms that could see the mound this season.

Outfielders Malachi Washington and Nate Davis, along with Dominic Santarelli, make up the field players from LSU on the top 100 list. The Tigers must replace their entire starting outfield from 2026, along with power in the batting order. All three will provide depth and compete for starting roles.
