Former LSU football cornerback Mansoor Delane is on track to play in Week 2 for the Kansas City Chiefs, according to head coach Andy Reid on Wednesday. Delane was a full participant in practice this week.
During the first series of his first NFL game on Monday against the Denver Broncos, Delane picked off quarterback Bo Nix on a pass attempt to Courtland Sutton for his first career interception. He landed on his right shoulder after the return, aggravating an injury that held him out of mandatory rookie camp in June. He didn't return on Monday.
The Chiefs took Delane at No. 6 overall after trading up three spots. He finished his sole season at LSU as a consensus All-American. He started in the first professional game of his career and will look
to stay healthy for Sunday Night Football against the Indianapolis Colts.

After three seasons with Virginia Tech, Delane decided to try his hand in the SEC and thrived. He ranked No. 2 in the conference in passes defended while also adding 45 tackles and two interceptions.
