LSU football's College Football Playoff hopes took a hit when the Tigers lost to Kentucky on Saturday night. Per FanDuel, LSU's odds to make the playoff are +220. Those odds signal that LSU has about a 28% chance to make the CFP.
Entering Week 6, LSU's CFP hopes were roughly a coin flip. Now at 4-2 and 1-2 in SEC play, LSU faces an uphill battle.
LSU was nearly a double-digit favorite in Lexington, but Lane Kiffin's squad struggled to find consistency and was upset on the road. A back-and-forth four quarters sent the game to overtime. LSU took the ball first and scored before the Kentucky offense responded with its own score. Then, Kentucky went for two and the win. UK QB Kenny Minchey went untouched on a QB draw to convert the two-point conversion.
Next up for LSU is a home game vs. Mississippi State. LSU's postseason hopes aren't dead yet, but they're on the ropes. LSU likely needs to win out, which will be tough against a schedule with several ranked teams.
