Angel Reese is off to her first WNBA Finals. The former LSU women's basketball star helped the Atlanta Dream sweep the New York Liberty in a best-of-five set to set up a meeting with the Golden State Valkyries. Both franchises are hoping to take home their first WNBA championship.
Through the first postseason games of her professional career, Reese is averaging 18 points and 8.4 rebounds per game while shooting 43% from the field. The 2026 defensive player of the year averaged 1.6 steals and 2.2 blocks per game through the first round and quarterfinals.
The Dream claimed a 10-point win over the Liberty to open the semifinals. Reese contributed 17 points along with four steals and three blocks as she stifled the Liberty's front court duo of Breanna

Game 2 went to overtime and the Dream won 101-98 in a back-and-forth slugfest. Reese scored six of her 23 points in the extra period. She followed it up with a 22 point and nine rebound showing in Game 3, which the Dream won 85-83. Reese scored 10 points, including two three-pointers, in the first quarter.
