Georgia's loss made it back-to-back weeks with a No. 1 team falling after Texas lost to Oklahoma in Week 6. Ohio State climbed to No. 2 after beating Indiana, with BYU, Georgia, and Texas Tech rounding out the top five.
Notre Dame and Indiana both remain in the top 10 after losses to other top-10 teams. Tennessee jumped to No. 11 after beating Alabama, and the Crimson Tide fell to No. 13.
Mississippi State and Oklahoma State each fell out of the
poll, helping LSU rise.
LSU will face Auburn in Week 8. Auburn remains unranked despite beating Georgia in Athens; however, Auburn was listed in the receiving votes section.
