A team currently dealing with a number of injuries to key players, the Alabama Crimson Tide had another starter join that list Saturday afternoon during the program's win over Texas A&M.
Starting left guard William Sanders went down with an injury during the second quarter of the contest, which he did not return from. As a result, Sanders was replaced by Michigan transfer Kaden Strayhorn, who served as Alabama's left guard for the remainder of the game.
Following the Crimson Tide's 31-20 win over Texas A&M, Alabama head coach Kalen DeBoer updated the status of Sanders during his postgame press conference.
"He has a lower extremity injury, get evaluated," DeBoer said. "He's probably the one guy that could be out for a little bit, so we'll kind of
see. Know more tomorrow for sure, but maybe not a week-or-two. Might be a couple more than that."
Sanders now joins a lengthy list of Crimson Tide players who are dealing with injuries entering Week 9. That includes Ryan Coleman-Williams, Zabien Brown, Racin Delgatty, and Terrance Green, among others.
The Crimson Tide enter a much-needed bye week, and as a result, will not be in action during Week 9. Alabama's next game will come Saturday, Nov. 7, at LSU.
