What is the story about?

Three former Alabama football players were cut from their respective NFL teams Saturday as clubs continue to make their final 53-man roster decisions.

All three players were rookies who signed as undrafted free agents in April and May, including two that played for the Crimson Tide last season. Linebacker Nikhai Hill-Green was waived by the Los Angeles Rams

, and offensive lineman Jaeden Roberts was waived by the Atlanta Falcons.

Of the three, Hill-Green was one of the first free agent signings announced by the Rams in the hours after the draft. He spent one season at Alabama and played in all 15 games after transferring from Colorado, recording 60 tackles (36 solo) with five tackles for loss, two forced fumbles and three pass breakups.

Hill-Green

had nine tackles (four solo) and a pass breakup in three preseason games for the Rams.

Roberts played in 37 career games for the Tide from 2022-25. He started 25 games over his final three seasons. The Falcons were the second team to waive the Houston native after the Philadelphia Eagles signed him as an undrafted free agent and placed him on waivers on Aug. 10.

Another former Alabama player was released on Saturday: wide receiver Kobe Prentice, who was part of the New York Giants' roster cuts. Prentice spent three seasons with the Crimson Tide (2022-24) and played in 36 games before transferring to Baylor for his senior year.

He caught 60 passes for 780 yards and five touchdowns in his three seasons in Tuscaloosa. With Baylor last season, the Calera, Alabama, native had 26 catches for a career-high 380 yards in 11 games.

Earlier Saturday, the New England Patriots released tight end C.J. Dippre and waived offensive lineman Darrian Dalcourt.

NFL teams have until 5 p.m. CT Sunday to trim their active rosters to 53 players.
