Alabama basketball roster 2026: Who's new, who's returning to Crimson Tide?
The Crimson Tide return starting forward Amari Allen after he withdrew from the NBA draft, as well as starting guard Aden Holloway and forwards London Jemison and Keitenn Bristow. Alabama brought in four-star freshman Jaxon Richardson as part of its 2026 recruiting class.
The Tide landed four players in the transfer portal, including three to add some size to Oats' roster: 6-foot-11 center Drew Fielder from Boise State, 6-foot-10 forward Brandon Garrison from Kentucky, and 6-foot-10 forward Jamarion Davis-Fleming from Mississippi State. Former four-star recruit and NC State small forward Cole Cloer also joined Alabama in the transfer portal.
Oats is entering his eighth season as Alabama's head coach. The Crimson Tide have made the NCAA Tournament in each of the past six seasons with five trips to the Sweet 16. Alabama finished 25-10 overall in 2025-26, including a 13-5 mark in conference play that earned the Crimson Tide a No. 2 seed at the SEC Tournament.
As the No. 4 seed in the NCAA Tournament, Alabama defeated Hofstra and Texas Tech during the opening weekend of March Madness before falling to the national champion Michigan Wolverines in the Sweet 16. Oats guided Alabama to its only Final Four appearance in program history in March 2024.
