The Alabama Crimson Tide's season opener this Saturday against East Carolina has the potential to be historic for a reason that is unrelated to the on-field action entirely.
According to James Spann of the Alabama Weather Network, the Week 1 showdown will likely be one of the hottest Crimson Tide football home games on record. Per Spann, temperatures in Tuscaloosa on Saturday are projected in the 96-100 degree range, while the heat index could be as high as 110 by the fourth quarter.
There is also a low chance for a pop up shower at some point during the game, per Spann, but regardless of if that happens or not, it appears that temperatures during the game will be hot regardless.
Alabama vs. East Carolina is set to be played this upcoming Saturday,
Sept. 5, inside Saban Field at Bryant-Denny Stadium in Tuscaloosa, Alabama. Kickoff is set for 11 a.m. CT on ABC between the Crimson Tide and Pirates.
