Week 6 was arguably the biggest week we have seen so far this season in the SEC. We had a monster top 10 clash in Tuscaloosa, plus some big upsets including the No. 1 ranked team in the country going down to their biggest rival.
Coming out of the weekend slate, some SEC quarterbacks continue to be among the nation's best, while questions are being asked about others.
How did this week shake up the SEC quarterback power rankings? Where does Keelon Russell sit after Alabama's loss to the new No. 1 team in the nation? Let's see.
10. Arch Manning, Texas Longhorns
- Previous Ranking: No. 6
Texas picked up their first loss of the season Saturday as they fell to Oklahoma, 27-24, in the "Red River Rivalry." Manning went 19-of-31 for 260 passing yards, 20 rushing yards, three touchdowns, and two interceptions. Consequentially,
both interceptions came in the fourth quarter. One was a pick-six that gave Oklahoma a 24-17 lead early in the fourth and the other came in the final minute and set up Oklahoma's game-winning field goal. Overall, Manning has a 63% completion percentage with 1,122 passing yards, 102 rushing yards, ten passing touchdowns, and five interceptions for the season.
9. Sam Leavitt, LSU Tigers
- Previous Ranking: No. 9
Saturday was a frustrating second loss for Sam Leavitt and LSU as they fell to Kentucky, 35-34, in overtime. Leavitt had a solid game yardage wise, but turnovers again remained a big story. Leavitt finished up 25-of-34 for 275 passing yards, 39 rushing yards, three total touchdowns (two passing, one rushing), one interception, and a fumble. For the season, Leavitt is completing 67.6% of his passes with 1,496 passing yards, 259 rushing yards, 17 total touchdowns (ten passing, seven rushing (leads SEC quarterbacks)), and eight interceptions.
8. LaNorris Sellers, South Carolina Gamecocks
- Previous Ranking: No. 10
LaNorris Sellers and South Carolina picked up their biggest win since 2024 on Saturday as they pulled away from Florida, 38-19. In the game, Sellers was 23-of-35 for 279 passing yards, 20 rushing yards, and five touchdowns (four passing, one rushing). Sellers has a 61.5% completion percentage, 1,338 passing yards, 411 rushing yards (leads SEC quarterbacks), 14 total touchdowns (12 passing, two rushing), and four interceptions for the season.
7. Aaron Philo, Florida Gators
- Previous Ranking: No. 7
For the second-straight week, Florida was unable to run the ball and their offense faltered as a lot of pressure was put on Philo. Philo was efficient, but the overall production was not there. He finished up 21-of-28 for 227 passing yards, 32 rushing yards, one touchdown, and one interception. Overall, Philo has a 70.5% completion percentage with 1,341 passing yards, 104 rushing yards, 12 total touchdowns (nine passing, three rushing), and three interceptions for the season.
6. Kenny Minchey, Kentucky Wildcats
- Previous Ranking: No. 8
Kentucky has catapulted into the national conversation after back-to-back 35-34 overtime wins in which they won by going for two and the win, this time over LSU. Minchey went 23-of-36 for 246 passing yards, and one rushing touchdown in the win. Minchey also scored the game-winning two-point conversion in overtime as he called his own number and sprinted up the middle to give Kentucky the win. For the season, Minchey has a 67.4% completion percentage, 1,394 passing yards, 12 total touchdowns (11 passing, one rushing), and one interception.
5. Austin Simmons, Missouri Tigers
- Previous Ranking: No. 5
Austin Simmons and Missouri knocked off Texas A&M, 27-6, this week in a bit of a rock fight. Simmons went 14-of-28 passing with 147 passing yards, 24 rushing yards, one touchdown, and one interception (Simmons' first of the season). Overall for the season, Simmons is completing 64.8% of his passes with 1,434 passing yards, 14 passing touchdowns, and one interception.
4. Kamario Taylor, Mississippi State Bulldogs
- Previous Ranking: No. 3
Kamario Taylor fell one spot over Mississippi State's bye week, but it had nothing to do with him (with him not playing). For the season, Taylor has a 66.2% completion percentage, 1,450 passing yards, 159 rushing yards, 18 total touchdowns (17 passing (leads SEC), one rushing), and four interceptions.
3. Gunner Stockton, Georgia Bulldogs
- Previous Ranking: No. 4
Gunner Stockton had one of the best performances of his career on Saturday as Georgia edged Alabama, 20-17, in Tuscaloosa. Stockton finished 18-of-22 with 249 passing yards, two total touchdowns (one passing, one rushing), and one interception. Stockton made several very impressive passes while leading Georgia to their first victory in Tuscaloosa in almost two decades. Overall, Stockton has an SEC-leading 76.6% completion percentage with 1,298 passing yards, 134 rushing yards, 15 total touchdowns (14 passing, one rushing), and two interceptions.
2. Keelon Russell, Alabama Crimson Tide
- Previous Ranking: No. 2
Keelon Russell looked human for the first time in a while as Georgia's defense flew around and gave him some fits as Alabama fell 20-17, although Russell and Alabama still had a chance to win the game. Russell finished the game 16-of-30 passing for 185 passing yards, 41 rushing yards, one touchdown, and a fumble. Russell is completing 67.9% of his passes for the season along with an SEC-leading 1,599 passing yards, 225 rushing yards, 16 total touchdowns (12 passing, four rushing), and two interceptions.
1. Trinidad Chambliss, Ole Miss Rebels
- Previous Ranking: No. 1
Ole Miss blew out Vanderbilt, 52-17, on Saturday as they got back on track following their bye week. Trinidad Chambliss was more of good-not-great, but it was a game where Ole Miss did not need him to be superman. He went 20-of-30 for 213 yards with four total touchdowns (three passing, one rushing) and one interception. For the season, Chambliss has a 70.1% completion percentage, 1,435 passing yards, 113 rushing yards, 16 total touchdowns (11 passing, five rushing), and four interceptions.
