The Alabama Crimson Tide visit the LSU Tigers in Week 10 of the 2026 college football season in the latest high-stakes matchup between the two SEC rivals.
Alabama (6-2, 4-2 SEC) is No. 9 in the US LBM Coaches Polland the AP Top 25. LSU (4-2, 3-2) is No. 15. The Crimson Tide are No. 5 in the College Football Playoff rankings with the Tigers No. 14.
Both teams are coming off a bye in Week 9 and were victorious on Oct. 24. Alabama used two fourth-quarter Keelon Russell touchdown passes from Keelon Russell and a stout defense during the second half to beat Texas A&M, 31-20, at Bryant-Denny Stadium.
The win over the Aggies came after Alabama fell to Georgia and Tennessee in back-to-back weeks. Russell was 19 of 30 for 311 yards and threw three touchdown
passes against Texas A&M. Rico Scott had a banner day at receiver with six catches for a career-high 156 yards.
LSU defeated Auburn in a 38-17 romp at Jordan-Hare Stadium on Oct. 24. Sam Leavitt threw for 388 yards and three touchdowns while rushing for another score. Jackson Harris had nine catches for a career-high 178 yards and two touchdowns. The Tigers amassed 552 yards of total offense against Auburn.
Kalen DeBoer has already won once at Tiger Stadium. That was in Alabama's 42-13 rout of LSU in 2024. Will DeBoer lead the Crimson Tide to another win in Baton Rouge, or will Lane Kiffin beat the program he helped lead to a national championship 11 years ago as Nick Saban's offensive coordinator?
Will Alabama football beat LSU? ESPN's final score prediction
Ahead of Alabama-LSU, ESPN's Bill Connelly predicted the final score using his popular SP+ metrics. Connelly has the Tigers winning narrowly, which is in line with the oddsmakers' 6.5 spread favoring LSU.
His final score prediction: LSU 30, Alabama 23.
Connelly gives the Tigers a win probability of 66%.
Who has the edge? Where Alabama, LSU football sit in ESPN SP+ rankings entering Week 10 blockbuster
Alabama is No. 8 in ESPN's SP+ team rankings, down one spot from last week.
The Crimson Tide have an overall rating of 20.6 (up from 18.5 before the win over Texas A&M). Alabama is one spot below the Texas Longhorns (22.1) and one spot ahead of the Utah Utes (19.9) in ESPN's team rankings.
To break down Alabama's rating by units, SP+ gives the Crimson Tide a 36.8 rating on offense (No. 11 nationally) and a 16.4 rating on defense, which is No. 16 nationally. In special teams, Alabama is given a 0.2 rating, which ranks 45th nationally.
LSU is No. 4 in the SP+ team rankings with an overall rating of 24.7, one spot below Notre Dame and one spot ahead of Miami. The metrics give the Tigers a 38.3 rating on offense that's No. 6 nationally, a 13.6 rating on defense that's also sixth-best in the nation, and a minus-0.3 rating in special teams (No. 103).
What are ESPN SP+ rankings?
According to Connelly, SP+ is "simply a measure of the most sustainable and predictable aspects of football. If you're lucky or unimpressive in a win, your rating will probably fall. If you're strong and unlucky in a loss, it will probably rise."
"SP+ is not a résumé ranking, so it does not automatically give credit for big wins or particularly brave scheduling -- no good predictive system does," he adds.
