Week 10 of the 2026 college football season features the most loaded slate of games across the country the sport has seen in some time. In the SEC, the Alabama Crimson Tide take on the LSU Tigers in Baton Rouge. Other top-25 matchups in the SEC carry heavy playoff implications, as well.
Alabama (6-2, 4-2 SEC) caused a collective gasp -- or sigh, depending on who you talk to -- by debuting at No. 5 in the Tuesday's College Football Playoff rankings with LSU (6-2, 3-2) No. 14. The Crimson Tide are No. 9 in the US LBM Coaches Poll and the AP Top 25; the Tigers are No. 15.
It's a tough matchup for Alabama, which is coming off a bye in Week 9 and fell in back-to-back losses to Georgia and Tennessee in October before rallying to beat Texas A&M, 31-20,
at Bryant-Denny Stadium. LSU is also coming off a bye. Lane Kiffin's Tigers defeated Auburn, 38-17, on Oct. 24 at Jordan-Hare Stadium.
While Saturday's prime-time schedule features a "game of the century" matchup between No. 1 Miami and No. 4 Notre Dame (No. 11 CFP), plenty of eyes will be on Oxford where No. 2 Georgia (7-1, 5-1) visits Ole Miss (6-2, 4-2) at Vaught-Hemingway Stadium. The Bulldogs debuted at No. 2 in the CFP rankings with the Rebels No. 10.
It's the fourth meeting between Georgia and Ole Miss since 2024. The Rebels lost in Athens during the regular season a year ago but came from behind to beat the Dawgs in a thrilling CFP quarterfinal matchup in the Sugar Bowl on Jan. 1.
Texas (6-2, 3-2) is another team with high hopes of a playoff berth. Arch Manning and the Longhorns face a tough challenge with an early kickoff against fellow SEC contender Missouri (6-2, 3-2). Texas will travel to Columbia in what will be its first true road game since Sept. 26 at Tennessee.
Speaking of the Vols, Tennessee (6-2, 3-2) welcomes the Kentucky Wildcats (7-1, 5-1) to Neyland Stadium in the most anticipated matchup between the border state rivals in decades. Kentucky debuted at No. 6 in the CFP rankings with Tennessee at No. 13.
Two other SEC teams in the top 25 are at home Saturday: No. 21 South Carolina and No. 24 Florida. The Gamecocks host Texas A&M while the Gators welcome Oklahoma to The Swamp.
