Alabama football was idle in Week 9, but the Crimson Tide managed to rise in this week's top-25 polls as well as one prominent national outlet's College Football Playoff projections.
Alabama (6-2, 4-2 SEC) rose two spots in USA TODAY's latest CFP projections
entering a blockbuster Week 10 across college football. Analyst Erick Smith has the Crimson Tide as the projected No. 7 seed in the playoff and hosting the BYU Cougars at Bryant-Denny Stadium on Dec. 18 or 19.It's a two-spot jump for Kalen DeBoer's team, which had been projected as the No. 9 seed in the playoffs entering the Week 9 bye following the Tide's 31-20 win over Texas A&M on Oct. 24.
Alabama rose to No. 9 in this week's US LBM Coaches Poll and the AP Top 25. BYU (7-1, 4-1 Big 12),
which defeated Arizona State, 27-20, at LaVell Edwards Stadium over the weekend, rose to No. 8.
