It's the final day for all 32 NFL teams to make their final cuts and trim their active rosters to 53 players heading into the 2026 regular season. A few former Alabama football players had already been casualties of roster cuts after the conclusion of NFL preseason play on Saturday, and more joined the list Sunday.
Cornerback Domani Jackson was waived by the Green Bay Packers, and running back Jam Miller was waived by the New England Patriots, CBS Sports' Matt Zenitz first reported.
Jackson was a sixth-round pick (201st overall) by Green Bay in the 2026 NFL Draft while Miller was a seventh-round selection by New England (245th overall).
A two-year starter at Alabama after transferring from Southern California in 2024, Jackson started all 13 games
for the Crimson Tide in 2024 and made 10 starts while appearing in all 15 games as a senior last season.
A native of San Diego who attended Mater Dei High School, Jackson had two interceptions, nine pass breakups, two tackles for loss and a forced fumble in his first season with the Tide in 2024. One of his interceptions was a game-sealing pick of LaNorris Sellers as time expired in Alabama's 27-25 win over South Carolina on Oct. 12.
Jackson had one pass breakup and 39 tackles (26 solo), including 1.5 tackles for loss with the Tide last season. He registered two tackles in two preseason games for the Packers in the team's preseason wins over the Denver Broncos and Arizona Cardinals.
Alabama football starting running back also among final NFL roster cuts

Miller, a 5-foot-10, 210-pound running back out of Tyler, Texas, played in 51 games across four seasons at Alabama (2022-25) and rushed for 1,596 yards and 13 touchdowns. He also caught 40 passes for 336 yards and two touchdowns. Miller was Alabama's primary running back in 2024 and 2025.
Miller, who suffered an injury late in camp with the Patriots, had 14 carries for 55 yards in New England's preseason opener against the Indianapolis Colts. He added 11 carries for 36 yards in a 24-21 win over the Philadelphia Eagles on Aug. 22. Miller did not play in the Patriots' preseason finale against the Cleveland Browns on Thursday.
The Patriots waived former Alabama offensive lineman Darrian Dalcourt and released tight end Josh Cuevas on Saturday.
NFL teams have until 5 p.m. CT Sunday to trim their active rosters to 53 players.
