Alabama football looks to snap a two-game losing streak at Neyland Stadium in Knoxville when the Crimson Tide visit the Tennessee Volunteers in the annual Third Saturday in October rivalry Saturday.
Who Alabama will see at quarterback is a bit of a mystery, though.
Tennessee coach Josh Heupel met with the media
at his weekly Monday press conference and addressed the Vols' starting quarterback situation."We'll find out through the week," Heupel said of who will start Saturday's game. "We get on the grass tomorrow and we'll work toward Saturday."
Tennessee is coming off a 24-17 win over the Arkansas Razorbacks in Fayetteville. George MacIntyre, a four-star recruit in the class of 2025 from Brentwood, Tennessee, made his first career start and finished
18 of 29 for 247 yards with one touchdown and two interceptions.
Five-star freshman Faizon Brandon started the Vols' first five games of the season but was pulled before halftime during Tennessee's 24-14 win over Auburn at Neyland Stadium after a shaky first half. Brandon has completed 60 percent of his passes and has thrown for 697 yards with seven touchdowns to one interception.
Brandon has also been a threat with his legs. He's rushed for 130 yards and three touchdowns on 53 attempts this season.
Kickoff for Alabama-Tennessee is 2:30 p.m. CT Saturday. The game will be televised on ABC. The Crimson Tide (5-1 overall, 3-1 SEC) are No. 6 in the AP Top 25 and No. 7 in the US LBM Coaches Poll. Tennessee (5-1, 2-1) is No. 14.
Alabama has won 17 of the last 19 in the Third Saturday in October rivalry but fell at Neyland Stadium in both 2022 and in 2024.
