On Saturday night, the Alabama Crimson Tide and Georgia Bulldogs are set to collide in one of the most anticipated games yet this season in college football.
A pair of undefeated teams, both of Alabama and Georgia are tied atop the SEC standings at 3-0 in conference play. As a result, this game will likely play a role in determining who makes it to Atlanta later this season to play in the SEC Championship Game, a matchup which saw the Crimson Tide and Bulldogs meet a year ago.
This is also the fourth time the two have met since Kalen DeBoer arrived at Alabama, as well as the second game in Tuscaloosa since that 2024 season. A number of players are also back from that memorable 2024 matchup on both sidelines, a list headlined by Alabama wide receiver
Ryan Coleman-Williams.
Follow along for three predictions for Saturday's huge SEC showdown between Alabama and Georgia in Tuscaloosa.
EJ Crowell leads Alabama in rushing
Alabama running back EJ Crowell has yet to receive at-least 10 carries in a game this season, but even despite that, the talented true freshman still ranks third for the Crimson Tide in rushing with 204 yards and three touchdowns on 26 attempts, averaging 7.8 yards per rush. I'll say that Saturday night serves as the first time Crowell receives over 10+ carries in a game this season, with the talented freshman leading Alabama in rushing yards against the Georgia defense.
Alabama picks off Gunner Stockton twice
Georgia quarterback Gunner Stockton has thrown only one interception this season, but will be facing his toughest test yet in an Alabama defense that currently leads the SEC with eight interceptions as a team, four of which have been returned for a touchdown. I'll predict the Alabama defense to pick off Stockton twice Saturday night though, with one being a costly turnover late in the game.
Keelon Russell accounts for at-least four touchdowns
Keelon Russell has been arguably college football's most impressive quarterback over the past three weeks, and I'll say that success continues Saturday night, despite the tough matchup. Russell will likely be counted on to make an impact in both the passing and running game against the Bulldogs defense, and with that, I'll go with the Alabama quarterback to account for four total touchdowns at-the-least.
