Set to meet Saturday night in Tuscaloosa, the weather is certain to play a huge role when the Alabama Crimson Tide and Georgia Bulldogs meet inside Saban Field at Bryant-Denny Stadium due to Hurricane Isaias.
Now officially a hurricane, the latest storm path outlook has Isaias officially making landfall around the Alabama gulf coast late Friday night into Saturday morning, as of Thursday morning's update. The current outlook has Isaias as a Category 1 or Category 2 hurricane at landfall, but will likely be a tropical depression when the storm path reaches the Tuscaloosa area Saturday afternoon.
As far as impacts for the game, there is a chance that the heaviest rain has moved past Tuscaloosa come kickoff. As a result, the likeliest impacts will
be wet field conditions and strong winds, while a passing rain shower is possible as well.
The latest forecast in Tuscaloosa on Saturday morning, per The Weather Channel, calls for a 100% chance of rain in the morning and afternoon with a high in the low 70's, as well as winds at 15 to 25 miles per hour. At night, the latest forecast calls for a 40% chance of rain showers early at night with temperatures in the low 60's, as well as winds at 5 to 10 miles per hour.
Tuscaloosa is also currently under a tropical storm watch, as of Thursday morning, Oct. 8.
Alabama and Georgia are still currently set to kickoff at 7:30 p.m. ET on Saturday, Oct. 10, from Saban Field at Bryant-Denny Stadium in Tuscaloosa, Alabama. The game will be televised live on ABC.
