After an impressive showing in his season debut, Alabama Crimson Tide quarterback Keelon Russell continues to be considered among the favorites to win the 2026 Heisman Trophy.
That is reflected in the latest Heisman odds, per FanDuel, which has the Alabama quarterback now sitting at +3000, as of Tuesday, Sept. 8. Last week, Russell owned odds of +2500 in the preseason.
Russell's current odds of +3000 are tied for the eight-best in college football alongside Oklahoma quarterback John Mateer. The current favorite coming out of Week 1 is Miami quarterback Darian Mensah at +650.
Ryan Coleman-Williams also has current Heisman odds of +22500, which was unchanged from a week ago.
In his debut as Alabama's starting quarterback, Russell completed 18-of-30
passes against East Carolina for a total of 256 yards. Russell also led Alabama in rushing with a team-high 86 yards and a touchdown on 13 attempts.
Coleman-Williams had a solid showing against East Carolina as well, hauling in five receptions for a team-high 130 yards. The wide receiver also had one rush for nine yards, as well as three punt returns for 27 yards.
Alabama will be back in action this Saturday, Sept. 12, against Kentucky. Kickoff is set for 3:30 p.m. ET on ABC.
