On Saturday afternoon, the Alabama Crimson Tide went into a packed Kroger Field, and eventually left with a 45-17 win to open SEC play against the Kentucky Wildcats.
A game where Alabama actually trailed at halftime, the Crimson Tide struggled early against the Wildcats, but were able to turn the tide in the third quarter, completely dominating the second half. Leading the way was a big showing from Alabama's defense, which featured a number of impactful performances at multiple different positions.
Here is this week's "stock report," which takes a look at three Crimson Tide players who are trending up following a big winfor Alabama in Lexington.
Caleb Woodson, Inside Linebacker
An impressive showing from the unit overall, there were few Alabama defensive players, if any, who
impressed more Saturday afternoon than inside linebacker Caleb Woodson. The Virginia Tech transfer led Alabama's defense with 12 total tackles, four of which were solo, along with two sacks and two TFL.
Daniel Hill, Running Back
Alabama's starting running back, Saturday might have been the greatest single-game performance in the Crimson Tide career of Daniel Hill. The junior, who also had two receptions for 12 yards, rushed for a team-high 104 yards and one touchdown on 18 carries against the Wildcats, averaging 5.8 yards per carry.
Devan Thompkins, Defensive Line
Similar to Woodson, Devan Thompkins is another offseason transfer addition who made a significant impact for the Alabama defense Saturday. Thompkins finished with six total tackles, four of which were solo, as well as two sacks and two TFL.
