When taking a look back at Alabama football's 48-10 win over East Carolina on Saturday afternoon, there were likely a plethora of positives to takeaway.
Starting on offense, the success of Alabama's running game was arguably the biggest, posting 227 yards as a team on the ground with four different players finding the end zone. Keelon Russell also made his first start as Alabama's starting quarterback, making an impact with both his arm and legs.
On defense, the Crimson Tide flexed their muscle by allowing only 162 total yards of offense to East Carolina, while also allowing the Pirates to get only five first downs the entire game. The Alabama defense also held East Carolina to 0-of-9 on third down.

Keelon Russell, Quarterback
Russell's first collegiate start was a major talking point coming into Saturday's game, and the sophomore certainly delivered on the hype going in, especially on the ground where he led the Crimson Tide with 86 yards and a score on 13 attempts. Russell also completed 18-of-30 passes for 256 yards, and is only going to improve from here on.
Ryan Coleman-Williams, Wide Receiver
While the junior did have a drop early, Coleman-Williams still began the 2026 season in a big way, leading Alabama in receiving with 130 yards on five receptions. Coleman-Williams also had three punt returns for 27 yards, featuring a long of 23 yards, with the junior also rushing once for nine yards, doing a bit of everything for the Crimson Tide in the win.
Daniel Hill, Running Back
Alabama's top returner at the running back position, Hill finished second for the Crimson Tide on Saturday in terms of yardage, racking up 47 yards and two touchdowns on nine attempts. Hill also had two receptions for 10 yards in the win, and showed flashes of what could end up being a big year for the Crimson Tide junior.
