While it is still nearly seven months away, some eyes have already started looking forward to the 2027 NFL draft.
ESPN NFL draft analyst Jordan Reid released a big board of his 2027 NFL draft top 50 prospects list Thursday. Four Alabama players were featured in the top 50.
Edge rusher Yhonzae Pierre came in as the No. 7 overall player and the No. 3 ranked edge rusher. Pierre has 14 tackles, 1.5 sacks, 2.5 TFL, an interception, and seven QB hits across five games this season. Pierre had eight sacks last season.
A string of Alabama players were in the mid-30's (right on the fringes of first round range). At the No. 34 overall spot is wide receiver Ryan Coleman-Williams. Coleman-Williams was Reid's sixth ranked receiver, just missing out on the top
five at the position. Coleman-Williams currently has 20 catches, 376 receiving yards, and four touchdowns through five games this season and is averaging nearly 20 yards per reception.
Then at No. 36 is defensive end Devan Thompkins and at No. 37 is cornerback Zabien Brown. Reid had Thompkins with the edge rushers, where he ranked fourth (right behind Pierre at the position). Brown came in as his fifth ranked corner.
Thompkins has 19 tackles and three sacks over five games this season. Brown has 12 tackles, four pass breakups, and a fumble recovery on the year in that same sample size.
The 2027 NFL draft will be April 29-May 1 in Washington, D.C.
