Week 2 of the NFL season is in the books, and it was another successful week for Alabama players.
It was particularly a strong week on the defensive side of ball for former Tide defenders, which made it difficult to narrow down some headliners on that side of the ball. However, two wide receivers had arguably the biggest weeks of any Alabama players.
With that being said, here are five Alabama headliners from NFL Week 2.
DeVonta Smith, Wide Receiver - Philadelphia Eagles
It was a close win for the Eagles as they scored in the final minute to knock off the Tennessee Titans, 24-20, and arguably their biggest performer was DeVonta Smith. Smith had 10 catches for 117 yards and one touchdown in the Eagles win. Smith's touchdown was a 22-yarder late in the first half.
Smith had the second most receptions
and the eighth most receiving yards in Week 2 in the NFL.
Jaylen Waddle, Wide Receiver - Denver Broncos
While dealing with injuries at running back, the Broncos needed a big day from their big offseason addition, and Jaylen Waddle did just that. Waddle went for eight catches and 138 yards as the Broncos beat the Jaguars, 20-13.
Waddle had the sixth most receiving yards across in the NFL in Week 2.
Bryce Young, Quarterback - Carolina Panthers
Bryce Young has been one of the best quarterbacks in the NFL through the first two weeks, as he had another standout performance as the Panthers blew out the Falcons, 34-3. Bryce Young went 23-for-36 passing (63.9%) for 287 passing yards and three touchdowns with no interceptions.
Through the first two weeks, Young is second in the NFL in passing yards with 648 and is tied for the league-lead with six touchdowns.
Will Anderson Jr., Defensive End - Houston Texans
It was not the best performance as a team from the Texans, as they fell 20-6 to the Bengals, but that had little to do with their star pass rusher Will Anderson Jr.. Anderson finished the game with eight tackles (four solo), one sack, three tackles for loss, and two QB hits.
Dallas Turner, Linebacker - Minnesota Vikings
It was a defensive battle in Chicago on Sunday as the Vikings knocked off the Bears, 9-3. Dallas Turner was in the backfield regularly on Sunday as he finished with five tackles, two sacks, and four QB hits.
Turner was one of just three players in the NFL with two sacks this week.
