Coming off a bye week, will the Alabama Crimson Tide get any players back from injury in Week 10 against LSU?
A lengthy list which includes multiple starters, Alabama head coach Kalen DeBoer provided an update on the group Monday during his weekly press conference, and in doing so, hinted some could be heading in the right direction toward a potential return in Baton Rouge.
“A lot of these guys from Zabien Brown to Ryan Coleman-Williams, EJ (Crowell), Racin (Delgatty), Terrance Green in particular, those guys are all working onto the football field," DeBoer said. "They’re not all in the exact same spot, but they’re all out there going through workouts. Some are taking team reps, some are taking non-contact reps, but I think the progress by all of them
is headed in a good direction. We’ll see. I think a lot of it has to do with how their bodies respond after they’re out there being pushed a little more at the end of the last week, yesterday, as well, and that will continue to happen throughout the course of the week.”
Prior to Alabama's bye week, each of those five missed the Crimson Tide's game against Texas A&M. Brown and Crowell suffered an injury in the Tennessee game, while Coleman-Williams, Delgatty, and Green have each been sidelined since the matchup against Georgia.
DeBoer also updated the status of outside linebacker Desmond Umeozulu, who has not played since the Florida State game due to an injury.
“Desmond will still be out for a while," DeBoer said. "Hopeful later on this season, but it will be toward the very back end of the regular season.”
Alabama vs. LSU is set to kickoff at 3:30 p.m. ET on ABC this upcoming Saturday, Nov. 7. The game will be played at Tiger Stadium in Baton Rouge, Louisiana.
